大丸 - DAIMARU Sapporo
大丸は、関西を拠点に大阪、京都、神戸、東京、札幌に店舗を置く百貨店です。北海道の百貨店の中で、売り上げNo.1を誇っています。2019年、友達の木こりから「大丸に森を持ち込みたい。手伝って！」と言われたのをきっかけに大丸との関係が始まりました。
大丸札幌店は「北海道の森」と売り場を繋げたいと考えていました。旭川の森から丸太を運んできて化粧品売り場の横に建物を組み上げたり、クリスマスシーズンに本物のツリーを運んできたり、様々な方法で森を持ち込みました。2022年には私たちが発行している庭しんぶん主催で、「地球のなぞなぞ」「科学のなぞなぞ」など、こどもたちへ向けた体験型の展示も行いました。装飾や展示には可能な限りサステナブルな素材を検討し、環境負荷について共に考え続けています。
DAIMARU is a department store based in the Kansai region with stores in Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Tokyo and Sapporo. It has a larger sales volume than any other department stores in Hokkaido. We began a relationship with them in 2019 when a friend of ours, a lumberjack, asked us for help in bringing a forest into the store.
DAIMARU Sapporo wanted to connect its sales floor with “the forest of Hokkaido”. We brought in the forest there in various ways, such as bringing in logs from the forest of Asahikawa to build a huge wooden house next to the cosmetic sales floor, and bringing in real trees during the Christmas season. In 2022, we worked on hands-on exhibits for children, such as “Earth riddles” and “Science riddles”which were planned by Niiiwa press, our newspaper. We keep thinking about our environmental impact by using sustainable materials for decorations and exhibits as much as possible.

木こりの陣内さん、映像会社・DRAWING AND MANUAL、わたしたちという布陣。旭川で製材された薄い木の板を巻きつけながら立ち上がる約6.5mのクリスマスツリーと、館内の至る所に出没する精霊のオブジェ、そして化粧品売り場を自由に踊り歩く森の精霊たち……。一つのVMDとしてまとめるのがとっても大変でした。
Moliday is combination of the Japanese word Mori meaning forest and the English word Holiday.The project team consisted of Mr. Jinnai, a lumberjack, DRAWING AND MANUAL, a movie production company, and us. We created many things such as Christmas trees over 6 meters high wrapped in thin wooden planks milled in Asahikawa, ornaments of the forest genies placed throughout the store. We also created a flash mob with forest genies dancing freely around the floor of the cosmetic store. It was so hard to put it all together as one VMD.

大丸札幌店は2023年に20周年を迎えました。「百貨店らしくない」をテーマに、若々しく力強いデザインを提案し、採択されました。20の0を模した円は、「大丸」を表現しています。社員で構成された社内報編集部と一緒に「20周年記念社内報」も制作しました。
Under the theme of "Be unlike the department store", we designed a youthful and powerful logo and it was adopted. The circle of zero represents DAIMARU, which means a big circle in Japanese and also created the 20th anniversary in-house magazine together with their in-house magazine editorial department.
大丸にちなんで、直径2mの「大きな丸」を売り場に設置。「20年前なにしてた？」「大丸で買ったものは？」といった質問の答えを、巨大なボールに書き込む仕組みにしました。たくさんの方に参加していただき、期間最終日には書き込む隙間が無い状態に。
Given its name of DAIMARU, a "big circle" with a diameter of 2 meters was set up on the sales floor.We created giant balls for customers to write the answers to the questions such as “What were you doing 20 years ago? “ and “What did you buy at DAIMARU?”. So many people wrote on them, and finally there was no space left to write on the last day of the event !

「夏休みに、こどもたちが遊べる展示をしたい」というリクエストから、庭しんぶん編集部が主催となり、地球に関するなぞなぞが書かれた遊具を作りました。答えが持ち帰れるように、庭しんぶん大丸特別号も配布しました。
In response to a request for an exhibit for children to play during summer vacation, we created a playground with riddles about the earth which were planned by Niiiwa press, our newspaper with special issue of Niiiwa press containing the answers to the riddles was also distributed.

化粧品売り場の横に小さな科学館を作りました。毎日図書館に通ったり、Youtubeを見たりしながら、造作担当のKYOYA清水さん・室田さんと一緒に作り上げました。週末は入場制限がかかり、こどもたちの行列ができました。
We created a small science museum next to the cosmetics floor. We made it with Mr.Shimizu and Ms.Murota of KYOYA, who were in charge of the production, while studying Science by going to the library and watching Youtube every day. On weekends, children lined up to enter the museum and there was an admission restriction !
